A few postings back, several comments mentioned the presence of white feathers scattered at random in the water. Presently, you can see a wide band of white feathers along the shore. These are, I believe, mostly from the thousands of Canada Geese that continue to visit these ponds, usually after feeding in the cornfields nearby. Note the damaged beak of the Egret walking along the shore.
