On a rainy morning. Another delightful hotel that we stayed in. I was told that this was the only commercial place in the village of Cannonville other than the cement factory, and that this had always been the way. The owners also owned the country store on the ground floor and the gas station up front. You had to go to the neighboring town of Tropic (a place that was only slightly bigger) to find a restaurant, but you could also buy microwaveable food in the store. The rooms were huge and really nice. The furniture was actually rescued from another motel that was shutting down. It looked like the place was popular with bicyclists. We saw a few bikes, and there were rag cloths in the corridor for folks to use to clean their bikes. No elevators to the upper floors!
