This was the surprise bird of the visit, one that wasn't even on my radar as a potential lifer. A flycatcher perching on the fence caught my attention, but it wasn't until I saw it from a different angle much later that I saw the yellow belly and recognized it as a kingbird. Only one kingbird shows the white band under the chin, the Cassin's Kingbird - it is listed as rare both in eBird and on the preserve checklist. It is life bird no. 503.
