Over The Line

There is always one nimrod that does a lousy job of parking. Today I was that nimrod.

re tire tread. I have generally done well with high end tires, but I rotate everytime I change the oil, and I generally watch the tire pressure.

That said, I don't think I get the promised distance, because every time you drive on a bad road you lose some life with potholes, etc.

I’m also wondering if my $800 dollar 70K Michelin tires are going to go the distance. They are at 35K now. Granted I don’t do the best job of rotating and staying on top of tire pressure...... Paul

Send the bill to Mr. Ford.

I tend to see more tight fits in older and smaller lots.
I think we have all been in your "club", though I have never been fined.
Is the lot posted with a clear warning?

I was under the impression that in Los Angles 30 minutes late was 15 minutes early. 68 bucks... for a minor parking infraction, they mean business.

When I work in the downtown districts where parking is tighter and 2 hour timed I will go out and check my tires every hour or so and if they are marked I will relocate the truck to a new spot. If I see the parking control officer I will stop and talk to him/her and explain where and how long I'm working and ask where I can park for longer time periods. They generally are cordial about it and suggest a location where they will leave me be for the duration.

I'm still a NIMROD! Paul

You know, last month I got a $68 dollar ticket for parking over the line in Court parking...there were tons of open parking, but I was late...Damn! Traveller
