The Fly and the Bull Frog

Now flies aren’t known for their scintillating intellect, but I’d have thought they'd have the innate sense not to land almost under the nose of a bull frog. But here we are and I was locked and loaded to try to catch this classic predator/prey drama as it played out. So I waited, and waited, and … nothing, zip, nada. The frog just sat there and eventually the fly flew away. Maybe the fly knew something I didn’t.

I love this composition, the frog’s eyes are in focus nicely, and the fly is almost as sharp. A lovely image with a great story to tell! BV

Excellent focus on the frog's head. Perhaps the frog was waiting for bigger prey. V

Well an interesting scene even though the frog was just chillin! V

Maybe this dude sleeps with his eyes open. What a great catch by you anyway!

What an excellent closeup of this non-action scene. Interesting how it unfolded (or didn't).
