James Krüss (1926 -1997), author, poet, dramatist, is one of Germany's most renowned children's authors and probably the most well known Heligolandian. The memorial depicts two of his most famous books- " Great Grandfather and I" and "The Boy who lost his laugh"

An interesting memorial. I've heard of him, but have not read him. I liked the books by Otfried Preußler and of course Wilhelm Busch.
