The Wrangler

Bannack, Montana

While riding through the pass, he'd been shot in the side
with an arrow by one of the local natives. Doc patched him
up with some opium in the wound to stop the bleeding.

Super portrait and in black and white as it should be. I've seen that very same look on a number of folks around here lately but I don't think they've been shot with an arrow.

I hate it when that happens. It's a good thing that they got Doc sobered up enough to fix it. Wonderful catch/composition. As with others in this series, I love the monochrome, which gives it an authentic vintage look and feel. Another great image in a great series. V
