Fungi, Russell Falls

Judges Comments

With a group of fungi you need a small aperture such as f16 to have a hope of getting the group all in focus. Also 1/15 sec at 165 mm
is far from ideal to achieve good focus. I understand the light was low and you have increased the ISO, but not far enough.
Most modern cameras will go to ISO 5000. However trying to shoot fungi which are usually in low light, without a tripod, never ends in success.
I can only assume a tripod was not in use as if it was, the aperture would have been samller, and the shutter
speed longer to achieve better focus. Focus stacking is the way to go for this type of image
and is allowed under nature rules.

1/15s f/6.3 at 165.0mm iso1600 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto
