Shark Patrol

A lifeguard on a jet ski patrols the waters off Moonlight Beach in Encinitas, CA looking for sharks. Saturday a teenager was attacked nearby while diving for lobsters. Quick action by a kayaker got the boy to shore and emergency crews airlifted him to a local children's hospital in critical condition. Thankfully he is expected to make a full recovery. Beaches up and down the coast were closed to swimming and surfing for 48 hours after the attack, but are now open.

Sharks are always a concern. There have been attacks on the east coast too. Beautiful sunset. Glad to learn the teenager will be ok.

I guess the life guard was to busy to gaze at the gorgeous sunset. V

How very scary for that poor boy. Glad he's going to be okay. Better to stay on shore and take pictures of the pretty surf. V

Beautiful capture but a scary thought that they have to watch out for sharks.

The calm scene belies the reason for the craft.

A very nice evening photo. The shark attack was on the news this morning. I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often.
