Monuments to independence, Tashkent

I’m unclear if this is called Memorial or Independence Square, but it was renamed in 1992 from Lenin Square to celebrate Uzbekistan’s independence. I believe these two monuments do specifically commemorate independence.

not sure what this says about independence...perhaps it is the sense of joie-de-vivre in the fascinating sculpture..
