Usually the beets get picked small and used for the greens pretty quickly.
We also grow a patch that we leave in the ground for winter eating!
Sometimes beets get thinned in such a way to grow a row to perfect size.
It’s always a treat to pick a bouquet of Bulls Blood beets.
Home grown fresh from the garden, delicious! and nutritious!
A favorite ingredient in what we call Bloody Omelettes.
Basically its onions, garlic, beets, season with herbs and spices to taste
Caramelizing the onions a little adds to the sweetness.
Everything in the omelette turns red.
The guilty part is we are reluctant to share
the Bulls Blood beets unless you are lucky enough to
drop by while breakfast is being fixed.
Is this an invite???…
….… Maybe! ;-)
