Two photos of the same thing, 51 years apart. This is a scene in the Marin County Civic Center in San Rafael, California. The top image was captured in 1966; the bottom one in 2017. Different lenses produced different images. The angle is different---I shot the bottom picture from a higher point, possibly to avoid having plants obscure the view. It did not surprise me that after 51 years the sculpture was gone.
Rephotographing this scene was difficult because there was only one place in the large, three-story building that matched my original shot: this arrangement of a column, a door, and windows was unique. But one thing bothers me: the door handles don't quite match.
The top picture was created by using my iPhone to photograph the image of a Kodachrome slide that was projected onto a wall.
