7. Nuisance

Sugar Land, Texas

This roundabout is a pain in the ass to navigate. Poor visibility is part of the problem. The 4 corners aren't squared, and they all look the same so you can easily choose the wrong street
to exit the circle, I'm not easily confused, and have a great sense of direction... but this is like being in the Bermuda Triangle - er, the Bermuda Circle.

I usually hate them in general. People don't know how to use them right. At least lighting and the sky were very nice this day and you made a decent image out of it. ~V~

Terrific clouds and scenery behind the road. V.

So true, Lynn! We have one here that invites accidents because of the poor planning of the lanes.

These roundabouts are popping up here too and I hate them! (Three minute long red light arrows are annoying too). I really like the composition with the arrows in the foreground. The sky is awesome. V

I'm seeing more and more roundabouts being installed in the US and don't like them one bit!
This is a beautiful capture Lynn! Love the sky and palm trees! V

Some roundabouts are very confusing, a few like that here, but at least yours is attractive, as is the shot!! V

Cutting down some of the vegetation ob the left may help, but compared to the famous Swindon Roundabout this one seems quite simple: https://youtu.be/6OGvj7GZSIo

Lovely ominous looking clouds, and you have a point about poor visibility.

I really like this image Lynn! It is striking in colour, composition and subject - great.

I know what you mean! Some of these are poorly designed! Part of the reason traffic circles started showing up everywhere is because of what I call “The Walmart Effect”. Then other developers and cities picked up on the idea! This is a great photo and makes the point! Been turned around in many a poorly designed round about all over the western U.S. V

What a neat composition. The arrows in the foreground point me in the direction for the interesting part of the frame, and the fountain is a nice predictor of the storm on it's way.

i like the impressive background of clouds V
roundabouts are difficult to navigate where ever you are in this world

Great shot! Love how the street leads you into the circle. I don't know why the engineers or city planters, have to put in plants, fountains, art structures etc. that blocks one's vision of other vehicles. Beautifully composed image. v

I see the problem; you're driving on the wrong side of the road.
Yes, we have the same problem here. The Traffic Autoratahs are more interested in appearance than practicality so they decorate the living heck out of the centre, obscuring the other side of the intersection. It's painful for drivers but potentially suicidal for pedestrians who just can't see what's on the other side before they cross.
The clouds have a "summer storm" feeling about them; the grey skies take nothing away from the appearance of heat in this image. Sigh, it'll be our turn again soon enough.

Great light in the ominous sky as well as the fountain, seems perfect for the PIA circle. V.

perhaps clearer signage is the answer...you caught the scene well, and at what an ominous moment..

A big storm coming! Nice shot! V
