Two new doorways have been carved out of our kitchen wall – the one on the left is going to be the door to the new downstairs toilet – don’t panic, there will be a wall erected between it and the new kitchen tomorrow! The one on the right is a new doorway because the old doorway was going to prevent us from executing part of our new kitchen plan.

It’s gradually taking shape and in fact it’s been going really fast recently with big changes each day BUT we have discovered this is the way of the world – a few big steps forward are generally followed by a period when nothing much seems to happen.

I long for a day when I can slob around, lie on the sofa drinking coffee and reading, after all, I AM supposed to be on holiday…
