I spent a long time in the the Karaağalar’s (Black Eunuch’) Courtyard. It has a colonnade on one side (left, when coming from the previous Hall with the fountain). Behind that colonnade are the rooms of the eunuchs. Again this was reconstructed (1668-9) after a 1665 fire. At its end is the Cümle Kapı, the Main Gate, into the harem proper, leading to a second guard room.
This is within that guard room.
