No Sidewalks! 6-04-18

The road is just wide enough for two cars to pass each other; with no room to spare.

Even so, it is still where I walk for daily exercise.
Even with the doggy stroller.

When two cars are going in opposite directions - and someone is walking or jogging on the road (or even riding a bike) - one of the cars has to stop to allow the other car to pass. That is because there is not enough room for all of them at the same time. There are no shoulders to the relatively narrow road. Often, there is a ditch instead. So it is hard for a walker to get off the road; even in an emergency.

Less than 10 years ago, this was just a quiet, gravel country road with little traffic.
Today, the traffic is pretty heavy for where it is.

It's still a back, country road. But now, there are housing developments along the road & no farmland. The last farm was sold in 2017. That land eventually will become another housing development. So will the vase empty farmland (currently zoned multi family use; ie, apartments) across the street from our development. Still, there is no room for this back county road to be widened to accommodate the ever increasing traffic. It is what it is. To just have a hard surface and lines is now a big deal... That's progress & modernization. The white line is there to help people from driving off into a ditch. People used to do that a lot. Actually, they still do. Not a comforting thought for walkers and joggers who must share the road with them...

Nice shot but ,wow ,that's not a good situation, you don't want to end up a hood ornament.:)

Unfortunately this situation is happening across the US... So sad to lose our country roads!
Your pup looks so cute in the stroller! :)

Such poor planning, and a dangerous situation for you and anybody trying to walk down that road. Cute capture, though!

Such a pity the changes that happen... I hope you stay safe with your little
darling in the pusher.. v
