The Lockheed XF-90 was a prototype long range fighter that first flew in 1949.
Unfortunately the XF-90 was over 50% heavier than its competitors and was greatly under powered, it lost the production contract to the McDonnell Voodoo.
Of the two XP-90's built one was destructively tested and the second used as a test aircraft during nuclear tests
