As the sun plunged ever lower in the sky and the light rapidly faded to the twilight just the last vestiges of sunset smeared the high clouds through a small wedge of sky on the horizon and duly reflected on the wet sand and shallow water close to the beach. The cold light and harsh winter conditions and deep snow coating the sand dunes serves to emphasise the little red rorbrua's splendid isolation.
