21st April 2018 - for mum

Two years tumour free.

My gorgeous mum had a brain tumour removed in 2016. She’s really well and is looking forward to moving house soon. She’s been doing a massive “life laundry” exercise to get rid of all of the stuff that sits in the backs of cupboards never getting used or cherished. I’ve spent several days recently hauling stuff out and saying “do you need this” then putting it into one of three piles – the keep pile, the charity shop pile and the dump pile. From there, hauling it into my car and transporting it to the relevant place. I never expected to gain quite such a good acquaintance with “High Heavens”.

Anyway, there have been a few things come my way including a lot of plastic tableware, books and DVDs for school, some kitchenware for me and finally two glorious acers in pots, one red leafed and the other green. They’re 25 years old and when I brought them here they were dormant. They looked like a few old twigs shoved into the pots. The warm weather over the past couple of days has encouraged them to break into leaf and to my surprise and delight the green-leafed one has also got flower buds on it. They are both now looking completely gorgeous. Thanks Mum!
