April 14th

San Antonio, Texas

Tom & I decided to spend the weekend in San Antonio, a 3 hour drive from home.
Spent Saturday morning exploring the 5 old Spanish Missions that are located along a 10 mile stretch of the river.
This is Mission Espada. From Wilki and Texas Historic Society:
Mission San Francisco de la Espada is a Roman Rite Catholic mission established in 1690 by Spain in present-day San Antonio, Texas, in what was then known as northern New Spain.
The aqueduct, friary, and sacristy were completed in 1745.
The Espada community of San Antonio has the unique distinction of participating in the oldest continually operating irrigation system in the United States.

Very attractive capture of this old mission. Great light, and I like the crop, too. V.

I was thinking this looked pretty old. Nicely composed pic.

local history so interestingly embodied...like your shot which shows the structure in the context of the wider ruins..
