The Olympic Games of 1972 were celebrated in Munich- what most people don't realise, all sailing regattas and several demonstration sport events took place in Kiel Bay. The main base of operations and the olympic village were located in Kiel-Schilksee. After the games, the buildings were turned into, highly coveted, apartments.
