Battalion Aid Station Forward

I have no idea what exactly was happening here. Our MSC officer, LT Aoki, is in the foreground and Mike McCaulla standing on the ground. I'm not sure which one of the guys was on top of the track. This photo gives an idea of the amount of work that went into setting up in a new location. Besides bunkers to be built, the aid station tent had to be sandbagged, as well as sleeping positions for the medics (one of them is on the right). Since the officers and medical platoon sergeant didn't participate, the digging and filling was all done by the medics assigned to the Aid Station. We moved frequently, especially during the monsoon, so there were no idle hands.

While this photo may not be a great piece of art, it is a record of that moment in time. For those of us who did not participate in the Vietnam Nam war it does provide a historical record of the time and place. These photos are an important visual record. Keep on posting them. Well done. V
