The Strozzi Chapel is located in the left transept of S. M. Novella.
The altarpiece shown here being admired by a visitor, was painted by Orcagna 1354-57 following the plague of 1348.
It shows Christ in the center, giving the Keys to St. Peter and a Book to St. Thomas Aquinas,
with the Madonna, St. John the Baptist and other Saints on the sides.
Orcagna's brother Nardo da Cione frescoed the walls of the Strozzi Chapel
with the Last Judgement, Hell, and Paradise.
