Upon some very persistent investigation for something else , I happened to discover this very disheartening fact today. The 2 axles that Firestone installed in my car cost Firestone 114.96 to obtain From Advance Auto. They charged me 219.98 for the parts !!
That is a mark up of 91.35% on parts ! Wonder what the reason will be upon my asking of that mark up ? Could it be shipping and handling ? If so, take in account you can SEE Advance Auto from Firestone here in Lexington .

I spoke with Travis at Advance Auto Warranty Labor Claims at 1-888-286-6772
He said you can ( I cant ) ask them for the check number to which that warranty claim was filed and a check of 763 dollars was sent to Firestone Corporate Headquarters. That check though it was sent to Firestone was supposed to be rewritten by Firestone and sent to me.
I will tell you from what I have learned that the check number is 420024 and was written on Aug 20 and cashed on Aug 31 but please call them and verify. That check was sent to Firestone and cashed from someone at Firestone. After calling Advance Warranty Claims number press 3 for an existing claim and once you get someone on the phone my claim is under the number 677842 My name and my cars details are in that filed claim . Was told the check was made out for 763 dollars ! Why would Firestone file a warranty claim with Advance Auto and USE MY CAR to do it ???? How would I get this info if I wasnt the reason for the warranty filed ? When I told Advance Auto that I wanted to file a claim they told me to have someone at Firestone Lexington NC to do this. Thats when I contacted Dale Burton who was in charge of having my car worked on. Evidently he had someone above him at Firestone to do this.
Amanda of Advance Auto Lexington NC (336) 243-2751 said I had this money coming to me. Dale Burton of Firestone Lexington 336-245-4374 said I had this money coming to me but BOTH said this money was sent to Firestone Corporate Headquarters.
