Dale Picture.jpg

This is the best of 4 pictures that Dale at Firestone of Lexington NC sent me via text on January 5th of 2018 at 10:26 am.
This is NOT the original transmission but the replacement transmission that B and M Automotive installed. I took my car to Firestone ( not yet knowing about the wrongly tooled axle ) for suspension work and was shown by Dale this leak. Not yet known was Firestones same axle causing the leak that it MUST HAVE DONE in my original transmission. I am grateful that Dale shared this picture with me.

This picture shows gearbox fluid dripping out of the drivers side axle hole. My car was up on the lift getting rear suspension work done at Firestone. At this time neither Dale or myself had any knowledge that the axle that Firestone had put in was a defective ( not up to specs ... rough area on seal seat area of axle , not smooth polished as the latter axle proved it should be " same part number ".

I had thought even at this time my Toyota may have simply been too low on gearbox fluid after my axle work at Firestone which was my initial complaint that Firestone did not fill up my gearbox oil after the job they did. Dale said, " If none comes out we dont fill it up". So I thought if this is their protocol maybe I was just victim of the gearbox meltdown that was bound to happen at some point. BUT after taking my Toyota to B and M Automotive and them inspecting the gear box AND finding the defectively tooled axle, Bobby McGee Jr said " I believe we have found where all your transmission problems originated". Not verbatim but the best of my recollection as to what he said. Im sure he would testify to this. He then said " What we need to do is order another axle for replacement and compare the two. When that axle came in he said ( again to the best of my recollection ) , yes, the newer axle is smoothly polished unlike the one that Firestone put in.

This wrongly remanufactured axle was the cause of my cars transmission gearbox breaking down and was ALMOST going to be the cause of my 2cd transmissions gearbox failure. I am thankful for Dale showing this to me, however Firestone did install this axle to begin with.

You or anyone are invited to call Bobby McGee Jr and ask him to verify what I have written here.
