Pete, this shot brings me back to scenes of my childhood, waiting for spring to return.
You have captures the essence of a landscape asleep, waiting to burst forth.
As Cindy said, the ruts from heavy machinery leading into the parallel lines of the field show the shadow of winter in the pools of water. Even the light dusting of frost on the distant fields evoke a feeling of cold but with a glimmer of hope of the new life about to,emerge.
Lucky you to spot this on your way to work.
I really got carried away with this landscape, it spoke so much to me....

I like the way that I am taken right into the photo by the lines. It is interesting to see the effect of the season, since your photos are usually so lushly green!

Fascinating view of this time of year, considering how verdant the place is in your view. Pretty much the same here. I am anxious for spring, since my autumn was empty of images due to two surgeries.

An interesting and very different view of Devon, Pete.
Glad to see that you are still in a rural area.
My sort of country.

I agree, the lines of this image are very powerful. Beautiful composition.

Love the lines of the corn stubbles, the wavy fields and the beautiful sky! V
