I don't remember exactely when, but in my many trips to Madeira Island, that later resulted in the filming of the TV Series, I once decided to try the new private Airline, (then) Portugalia. They had a fleet of 3 Fokker F100 aircraft, and it was my 1st time on the type I flew so often, years later...
I was surprised hoe much smooth it was, somewhat similar to the Airbuses I'd try later.
I managed to go to the cockpit, talk to the Captain, and old gentleman from Mozambique, who confirmed me the Fokker was a lot smoother than the B-737 (then, the 700, 800, 900 series, got better...).
Even the approach they did to Madeira airport was nicer then TAP, but I've never used it again...
