(Wasserturm) is the emblem of the city of Mannheim and a stunning piece of Romanesque architecture. It was built in 1886 as a reservoir for the town’s drinking water supply.
At 60 m (196 ft) high, the cylindrical, yellow sandstone tower is the tallest structure in the area.
It is surrounded by statues and fountains which are lit up at dusk each day.
