TAP L-1011-500 Tristar, CS-TEC

New York JFK Airport view map

The 1st time I flew this Airplane, so much loved by the Pilots! They all said it was the easiest to fly, and very forgiving to errors, etc...
As it was also my 1st time in the USA, I decided to visit New York too. That way, I could try this beauty, on the return.
As soon as I arrived to the gate, they announced there was a serious technical problem. And by coincidence, there I meet the Chief Steward from this flight I knew so well from Cabo Verde, Aquino! A very funny person! He told me the stupid JFK handlers broke the main door of the front landing gear, reversing a vehicle. They were trying to convince (the fools) the Captain to fly like this, but he said there was no way he'd cross the Atlantic with a gear door opened!
Therefore, we were all taken to the Grand Hyatt in NY, for a 24 hour delay! I was delighted!
Next day, more mischiefs: The Captain insisted they flew the plane, to check the fix, and then when they parked at the Gate for us to embark, the incompetent fools LOST the keys to the Gate! Well taxi to another one, all the almost 200 passengers running to the other end of the Terminal, etc... Enough of American incompetence.
It was a great flight, I really loved the Tristar. 1/2 hours before arriving, already daytime, Aquino called me to go to the cockpit and meet the Captain! They were zigzagging between one of the biggest walls of CB I've ever seen! I told the Captain I was thankful for him doing so! He said, no need to shake terribly the passengers! And told me JFK Airport had to pay many hundred thousand Dollars for the mischiefs, the part, the repair, and putting the passengers in the hotel!
