TAP Air Portugal Boeing B-727/282Adv

Sao Tome Airport view map

My 1st (and I think only one) time on a 200 B-727 series.
At the time, TAP has already replaced most of his 727 fleet, but the Sao Tome Island Airport could not handle at the time, until it was repaired, the weight of the A310.
It was a tremendous flight of over 10 hours, as the 727 didn't have the range to fly directely.
So, we did Lisbon/Dakar/Abijan/Sao Tome. It was a whole night flying and arriving in the morning, with stops of around 1 hour at each of the intermidiary Airports. Completely full airplane, very unconfortable! A lot of non stop turbulence in the Dakar/Abijan leg of 2 hours.
But the return, after 3 weeks of very heavy filming, was even more interesting! Same rout, in reverse, daytime!
I got very sick last week, with cerebral Malaria. I didnt die, but lost over 15 kgs of weight and was terribly weak!
We were supposed to stay another week filming, and in fact, the rest of my crew did so.
There was no way we could change my ticket, as the plane was completely full, and already 150 people on the waiting list.
So I did a trick: Went to film the arrival of 'my' TAP plane, and waited for the Captain to come down the stairs! When he saw me, he said immediately: "I'm sure you want to come back with me tomorrow, you look absolutely horrible" (I as like green...). But he explained about the waiting list, more, he, as a Captain had the right to use 4 seats, but he already had 6 people. Anyway, I should talk to him that morning.
When the day arrived, the airport was absolutely cahotic! And I couldn't see him anywhere. When I called you, he said he completely forgot about me. He said there was no place for a flie onboard, but I just could not stay and had to return! He asked me if I wouldn't mind to do the flight standing in the rear galley! Of course not, I really had to get home!
Before take of, the Cabin attendant in the rear told me that has for security procedures, I could not TO standing! So, I would have to sit in the rear toilet, with the door opened by my arm! But then he looked at my green condition and said he would do it himself, and I could sit on his rear sit! So we did, in the 3 TO's!
Fortunately it was a great flight with no turbulence, I could wander around the cabin, and sit for some moments when the passengers near went to the toilets!
How more funny could it get???

That does sound like a really crazy flight. I have been on a lot 727-200's. The big airlines in Denver (United, Continental, Western, TWA) all used them a lot. ~BV~
