Way back in high school I was an avid still photographer. I went through a lot of rolls of Tri-X. I also rolled my own which saved dough. At the time, timelapse photography wasn't something I was thinking about. I didn't have a suitable camera. Some of my friends did, however. They had an 8mm movie camera that also had a single frame shutter. That was how an amateur made time lapse movies back then. One of their projects was a cool film of lots of building blocks assembling themselves into a structure. It must have taken lots of time to do it. I can still see it in my mind.

So now, with a digital camera and Lightroom software it is an easy matter to make a timelapse video. Remembering what my classmates did with the blocks, I decided to have a go at moving quarters around. As far as conditions were concerned, I shot two frames for each set up. That is because I wanted to have a video that lasted several seconds. So, here it is.

Ha ha. I always had a movie camera in the old days and did stuff like this.
It was fun to do.

Things like this are easy to do.
We have wonderful photographic tools these days.
I just wish my imagination was
more up to the task.
