Homoranthus porteri

Scattered and in rock crevices, we found about ten of these shrubs, all in full bloom.
Homoranthus porteri is restricted to a few rock outcrops in far north Queensland and is listed as Vulnerable to extinction.
Our finding is a small extension to the known range of the species.
Homoranthus porteri doesn't have an established common name. It is in the myrtle family Myrtaceae.

Filled with warmth, color and light - they don't look endangered to me! Beauty for a gray day here.
