Amasya, Yeşilırmak River

Amasya is a city in northern Turkey that sits in the mountains above the Black Sea coast and is famous for its apples. It was the home of the geographer Strabo and has a history of 7,500 years that has left many traces today. It was customary for young Ottoman princes to be sent to Amasya to govern and gain experience.
