Artvin view

Artvin is a city in northeastern Turkey about 30 kilometers inland from the Black Sea and perched high on a hill overlooking the Çoruh River. We just drove through there so I don’t have many pictures, but in speaking to a colleague yesterday I remembered how dizzyingly high up it was, and found this shot of the view from there.

Such a desolate looking landscape yet the vegetation in the bottom of the valley looks verdant. Interesting shot V

Heritage Man mentioned it first. Wherever there are roads, the slopes below are all bare of vegetation. Interesting landscape. V

Oh dear, they seem to have gone out of their way to scar the landscape and create erosion.

So many things going on in this beautiful landscape but the winding road caught my eye. Very good work, Helen !
