As soon as I saw this scene my first thought was how it appeared so utterly alien to that which I normally see. The sequence of dead trees looked to me like some bizarre network of alien antenna pointing skywards to communicate with who knows what. This has the appearance of a Martian landscape the blue sky exhibiting the most beautifully subtle colour gradient where the fine red sand imperceptibly pervades the clearest of blue skies. To chop it down to a panoramic would for me have been a travesty, destroying the message of distant communication that I want the image to convey.
