These images were captured in a park near Renton, Washington. My wife took the picture of Lela in 2013. I took the picture on the right in 2017 when verifying the location of my wife's photo.
I assign location keywords to all our photos, using Lightroom. When I imported the picture of Lela into Lightroom in 2013 I did not know where it was taken, so I gave it a location keyword of "TBD" (to be determined). Then I forgot about it.
On a whim in 2017 I audited the TBD files and found this one. My wife remembered where she had taken it, so I made a print of her photo and took it with me to see if I could match the place to the photo. They matched, as the photo at right proves. Another geographic mystery solved ! The picture at right is one I took when confirming the place.
Both pictures were taken while sitting on a log but the axes of the two pictures are slightly different. You can see this at upper right: just to the right of the dark tree trunk. Two distant trees, both slightly greenish, are visible in my wife's picture. One of them is behind a big tree stump. In the right image, both trees have shifted to the left, hiding one of the two trees behind the dark tree trunk.
Lela was not available for the second photo because she was 1500 miles away, in Arizona (for the winter) and she did not want to come home just for this. I soldiered on without her.
