Trail Rider Pass 12,420'
All downhill now, except for the end walking up a river valley to camp. Still a rather long day.
(The clock on my camera shows it took me another 80 minutes to reach the junction or about 3 hours to do the first 3.6 miles!)
Map shows it is 3.1 miles between trail junctions (+.5 miles into Snowmass from its junction) then 1.5 miles down a traverse, then a bit beyond to the river crossing at 10,400' with a camp nearby. I would continue up to just below a waterfall and make camp, partly because I was too tired to climb up to a camp recommended by a guy at Snowmass, and because I liked the log to sit on and the shade at the camp where I did stay, probably a mile from the last junction. (.5 + 3.1 + 1.5 + 1 =6.1 seemed allot longer than this)
Wish I had taken a few shots of that valley.
