Scalene

Ulm, Germany

The "Schiefe Haus" in Ulm build in 1406.
An extension build in 1443 caused the scalene shape
The north wall of the house stood on steady gravel.
The south wall, however, was founded on much less firm ground.
As the foundation of this house side slowly gave way,
the fundament moved with it and the house sunk into a tilted shape.

This is such a wonderful old building; I love the half-timbered look and you've captured it well. V

Great shot. Not uncommon for half timbered structures this old. "V"

A superb S, Mieke...I found it difficult to walk in a tilting pub in York, but it made me smile just like this photo. V

Good one! I think scalene buildings were more popular back in the old days!

Very pretty. Not sure I'd want to live there though!
