S is for Streetscape

Houston, Texas

We went to downtown Houston on Saturday night. We had dinner at the House of Blues and then Buddy Guy and Quinn Sullivan in concert there.
Most of the downtown area did not flood. This corner (Dallas @ Main) is just a few blocks from the Convention Center
where many thousands of flood refugees are still staying.
Many of the downtown restaurants were closed because they can't get enough staff to run the business.
It felt so good to get out of the house and have fun after this past harrowing week.

By the looks of this street scene, one would never know that there was 50+ inches of rain in the city!
Beautiful street scene Lynn! V

Nice perspective with all the lights along the rail. If one were to judge by this photo one could not tell a hurricane move through there. "V"

It looks eerily quiet and unsettling.

How reassuring to see this photo from Houston, with no floods. A lovely scene. V

Good to see at least parts of the city returning to life.

Not what I imagine Houston to look like these days, but am glad to see some of it is still normal. V.

Good that some parts completely missed the floods... this is a very attractive
street scene Lynn. v

It looks remarkably normal. That was probably a welcome sight.

It's always a knock-on effect...I hope it all gets back to normal soon. It's a very pretty city street. V
