1830 original unaged corn moonshine

Moonshine – originally slang for high proof distilled spirits usually produced illicitly without government authorization – can now be produced legally in the US and is defined as clear, unaged whisky.

I had never even seen it before (and actually didn’t know it still existed), but it’s simply everywhere in Tennessee. We did go into a distillery out of curiosity and bought a jar of it (it’s sold in Mason jars). I’m sure we’ll never drink it, but it makes for an interesting conversation piece.

A little warmth for camping (drinking or starting the fire) in the park on a cold night. Have you tried moonshine jelly? Love this capture of this element of the local heritage. V

At 100 proof, it's likely to burn a tad on the way down! Neat shot.

Seems a good use of photo space Helen, try it and see if it improves the look of your pictures, not that I expect it too, they are great anyway.

A very interesting photograph, Helen, also a great explanation about the history of this drink, BV

A bit confusing, "1830 Unaged Corn" - 1830 recipe I'm guessing :) It would certainly be interesting to go for a tasting !! Neat shot V
