Hurricane Harvey is headed to the Texas gulf coast. The National Hurricane Center is my number one internet stop every three hours when all their stuff gets updated. We have been here before. In 2008 we had Hurricane Ike. That was memorable because the eye of the hurricane went over our house.

Whenever a big storm is on the way, people tend to get wacky. They buy up all the bottled water when they can get all the water they want for free from the tap. Just fill a bunch of containers. I decided to head up to Kroger and assess the situation. Sure enough, the bottled water shelf was bare. It was to my great relief, however, that the beer cooler was well stocked. I grabbed three six-packs and headed to the check out counter. All in all, the crowd didn't seem in a panic. It was orderly. They were selling a hell of a lot of groceries. We will see what the weather brings.

Today's photo is documentary proof of the shelf situation at our local Kroger store.

Larry-that is why Ginny puts up with me.
Dave-no canoe, but second floor. Actually
we have never had water come up to the house.

Clear thinking. Stay safe.

It's good to see that the important stuff was still on hand.
Good luck with Harvey. Do you have a canoe?
