Had to include this. Every day in the summer the Park
holds fun chicken races. The public can bet on the chickens
(no charge) and if you choose a winner you win money to
spend in the Park store :) The chickens all have funny
names - and, much to my surprise, run like mad, making it
difficult to get a shot. The trainer told us that they
started with food as a lure, but now seem to run for the fun.
Quite hilarious - the grandchildren really enjoyed it. This breed
was especially chosen by the pioneers here for their large size (15 lbs.),
good laying and being well feathered for the winters.
