Ascending the grade at Kamela, Oregon... 20080504_5366

After running into snow on a forest road, I was forced to look for another place to car-camp. That other place is here: Kamela, Oregon, a railroad site along the old highway. I parked in a large turn-out on a bluff above the tracks, from which I had a nice view of any train going by. This time exposure was taken shortly after arriving, and in the rush to get the shot I turned off the noise reduction of my camera, creating a zillion noise spots that had to be cloned out of this image. Some spots undoubtedly remain. Two vehicles went by before I konked out for the night---not exactly a busy road, which is just what I wanted.

The fact that the train was westbound was of no interest to my trustworthy photographic aide (Joe Tripod) because his full concentration was focused on his supportive role.
