LUNCH FOR JUNIOR.
Five images from the morning after the Owlets first day out of the nest cavity. It is now perched nicely some 15 meters above the forest floor.
Top image: Mom arrives with lunch, a Chickadee, and perches a short distance from the young Owlet.
Mom then flies to where junior is perched, but keeps some distance as if wanting junior to come to her.
The young Owlet, however, makes no effort to go to Mom, so Mom looks away and...........
...............decides to fly to another branch nearby. Mom is keeping a weary eye on us photogs. At this point Junior starts.........
..... to scream." GIVE ME MY LUNcH! I WANT MY LUNCH!" Typical kid. (Actually, I made this up, the Owlet here is just yawning and this photo was taken before Mom arrived with lunch.)
We decided to leave then to give Mom a chance to feed junior.
