A note about this sign. Normally as you enter a national park, there is a sign there for the national park itself. Voyageurs used to have a wooden sign for Voyageurs National Park, with a beautiful logo with an eagle on the side of it. This sign has the Ash River Visitor Center as its main theme, even though it is really at a park entrance and the visitor center which is still around 5 miles up the road has its own nice sign. I was told that each of the three entrances that you can drive to now have visitor center signs. I do think this is wrong as if you go to lots of national parks, you will find that many people stop to take pictures of the entry sign and of themselves in front of the sign. Talking to the rangers there, they did say they have had a number of complaints about the new signs for this very reason. I hope they someday go back to a park sign instead of a visitor center sign!
