geeky

today marks the summer solstice, a significant date in the annual march of time...it is also exactly two months prior to the solar eclipse that will traverse the USA on 21 August...the solar glasses ordered through Astronomy magazine have arrived...apparently impregnated (!!) polymer is the key to the lenses...this might seem a tad geeky, and so it is too, yet the glasses could well prove useful, and eyesight-saving, under the path of totality, soon enough to be captured (in Oregon) by a certain band of rogue photographers...I can already see the possibilities for a quirky group portrait, somewhere under the shadow of the moon

did manage a group shot too, complete with these glasses: http://www.pbase.com/globalgadabout/image/166144710

The setting for the macabre scene is being set even as you write :)

Geeky sure, but so useful for the viewing the eclipse. For walking around the mall- not so much.
