I've been watching them flitter between trees for several weeks if not a couple of months. Today this one finally let me photograph him while he and I were eating lunch in the woods. I used the 300mm F4 lens with a 1.4TC for 420mm ... and with a 1.6 crop factor put it at 672mm equivalent and it still required a fair amount of cropping. Fortunately the lens and TC combo has really nice image quality.
