Lyrical June 5 - The Wheels on the Bus...

Hesdin, Pas de Calais

Another image from the rally "Sur la Route des Vacances", especially for Ray!
This coach, a Saurer, built in France around 1937 but it's right-hand drive.

Each year this event recreates the days when hundreds of miners and their families took their holidays,
by bus or, if lucky enough, by private car from all over the area to spend their holidays in Berck sur Mer.

The Wheels on the Bus
The wheels on the bus go round and round,
round and round,
round and round.
The wheels on the bus go round and round,
all day long

The wipers on the bus go Swish, swish, swish;
Swish, swish, swish;
Swish, swish, swish.
The wipers on the bus go Swish, swish, swish,
all day long

The horn on the bus go Beep, beep, beep;
Beep, beep, beep;
Beep, beep, beep.
The horn on the bus go Beep, beep, beep,
all day long

The children on the bus go Chatter, chatter, chatter;
Chatter, chatter, chatter;
Chatter, chatter, chatter.
The children on the bus go Chatter, chatter, chatter,
all day long

Ha! Thank You!
I remember seeing another Saurer in Switzerland way back in the 80s. It too had that characteristic 'snout' to hold the engine at the front. It did look pretty old back then, but I've since learnt that the manufacturer kept the old fashioned design going for many years!
