Imaged from Beckwith Township, Ontario, Canada.
This is a shot that I have been thinking about for some time. I had been shooting aurora to the north, turned around and the Milky Way was rising over the solar array; just as I had imagined.
I think something wider (in the 14-16mm range) might have been more effective; but I had raced home to get a wide angle lens to shoot the aurora; and did not want to make too much noise digging for the lens as my wife was sleeping (this was after midnight).
24mm; 10 seconds; f/2.0; ISO 1600; Nikon D810; Sigma Art 24-35mm f/2 lens.
