Macro

Sugar Land, Texas

Sustainably sourced Jackfruit is a relative of figs and breadfruit.
It grows in tropical areas of Southeast Asia, Brazil and Africa.
While it is a fruit, its consistency is similar to that of chicken or pork.
It has a fairly neutral taste when young, so it takes on the flavor of whatever sauce or seasoning you pair it with.
It has a stringy consistency that works especially well with tangy BBQ sauce to make a vegan BBQ pulled 'pork' sandwich.

That's a really eye-dazzling shot. Because the shapes on the fruit are so regular in both size and colour the point at which they go from sharply in focus to out of the DOF is so subtle that you don't even notice that it's happened until you look back to another part of the image. It causes the eye to keep moving back and forth as a result.

The texture and colour are great. It's not something I've tried and never seen here in shops.

Very common in the state in India that I am from. I like it best when it is ripe and sweet and it can be eaten by itself. Even the seed is cooked and eaten. Rather messy to extract the fruit.

Fabulous Macro, Lynn. I'm unfamiliar with Jackfruit. Sounds interesting for Vegan BBQ. Will have to try this.

That's a new one on me, but this is outside my comfort zone of knowledge!

It makes a great macro.

There is a grower of Jackfruit not too far from me...it's a great add into cooking. A fantastic macro Lynn. V
